Material Reclamation Facility (MRF)
15 TPH MRF Install (June 2006)
Installation has just been completed on our latest MRF system which is designed to process up to 15 tons per hour of co-mingled recyclable material. The system incorporates the latest technology which includes:- Flow control feed conveyors and powered drum, V-Screen separator for separation of paper from containers, Glass breaking and clean up system, MSS optical sorting equipment for cleaning paper, Fully automatic balers for card, plastic bottles, steel and aluminium cans. Further details of other MRF installations can be viewed on web page MRF Systems. For further information contact:- andym@kenmills.co.uk
Transcycle (August 2005)
Newly installed MRF incorporates the latest technology for the separation of co-mingled dry recyclable material. The system separates paper, card, mixed plastic bottle and mixed cans. The material is fed into the feed metering conveyor which controls the flow up onto the main inclined belt. The first sorting position removed the card and the second removes the large waste. The mixed material then feeds direct into the V-screen which is a newly developed product imported from the US. The V-screen allows the fines and small waste items to fall from the base while the newspaper and magazines are sorted over the top of the disc screen. The plastic bottle and cans continue along the base of the discs which are fed back onto the second sorting line. From the end of the V-Screen separator the material passes under an overband magnet to remove the steel and then through an eddy current separator to remove the aluminium from the now clean plastic bottles which are baled in our T40 Horizontal, The aluminium cans are fed through our UBC baling machine. NEWS M.R.F. (March 2004) Newly installed MRF system incorporates the latest technology to reduce labour and increase production. The system is designed to handle a maximum throughput of 20 tons per hour (90,000 T/year) of co-mingles dry recyclables. The system initially removed the paper materials from the containers by means of a newly developed V-Screen separator and then through a series of automatic optical sorters and manual post sort position. The final material is either bulked (news and mixed paper) or baled into mill size bales (Film, Card, Plastic bottles, Ferrous cans and Aluminium cans).
